AZ Wedding & Event Studio was founded by Alessandra Zanghi, an Italian destination wedding planner, event designer and celebrant based on Lake Garda. After more than ten years creating and managing events inside some of Northern Italy’s most beautiful historic venues, she decided to build something that reflected her own vision: intimate, unconventional celebrations shaped around the people living them. Because a wedding in Italy should feel like Italy — not like a production that could have taken place anywhere else in the world.

BETWEEN TWO WORLDS

Alessandra was born between two completely opposite worlds. Her mother is Austrian — blonde, Nordic, with ice-blue eyes. Her father is Sicilian — perpetually tanned, unmistakably Mediterranean, with dark features and an intriguing gaze. Opposites in almost every possible way. Her childhood summers were spent in Sicily: dry, scorching and sun-drenched, yet extraordinarily warm in its affection. Winters belonged to Austria, where both the temperatures and the people appeared considerably more reserved. Perhaps this is where Alessandra first learned how different cultures can be — and how fascinating it is to bring them together. She began travelling alone at the age of five from Italy to Austria. Years later, she spent a year in the United States, studied between Brescia, Milan and China, and eventually graduated in International Relations. The plan was to become a diplomat.

There was only one small problem: Alessandra is not particularly diplomatic.

ITALY, THROUGH HER EYES

After more than a decade working behind the scenes of Italian venues and events, Alessandra founded AZ Wedding & Event Studio as a bridge between international couples and the real Italy. Not simply a list of suppliers.

Not an impersonal package. Instead: hidden venues, trusted local people, beautiful food, landscapes, traditions and celebrations that actually belong to the people living them. Today, she plans destination weddings and multi-day celebrations across Lake Garda and selected Italian destinations, helping couples turn the idea of getting married in Italy into something personal, realistic and beautifully organised.

BEHIND THE PLANNER

Alessandra lives at Lake Garda with her two daughters, Vittoria and Ludovica, who often become part of the creative process themselves. The three share a passion for flowers, herbs and the garden — and many ideas begin somewhere between something they have grown, discovered or decided to experiment with. When she is not visiting venues or designing celebrations, Alessandra is usually travelling, playing padel, running or explaining that no — one hundred guests and a €30,000 budget do not always perform miracles in Italy.

What begins as an idea becomes a place.The place becomes a weekend.And the weekend becomes a story that belongs entirely to the people living it.Alessandra takes care of everything happening behind the scenes, so her couples can remain present for what truly matters: celebrating with the people they love, in Italy, without feeling like guests at their own wedding.In the end, Alessandra did become a bridge between different countries and cultures.Just not in the way she had originally imagined.
